Tips for Energy Savings

Who doesn't want to save a little money? Here are a few ideas that can add up to energy savings...

Energy Savings Tip # 1

This can save a tremendous amount of water and money. Many of the new water saving toilets also have a dual flush feature by which you can choose a half flush or a full flush.

For example, by replace one typical 3.5 gallon toilet with a 1.6 gallon model can save a family of four-11,096 gallons per year! That's a 54% reduction in toilet water usage, which equals savings to you and the environment.

Energy Savings Tip #2

If you are looking to "go green" and lower your energy costs, your water heat may be a great place to start. In recent years, there are many energy efficient options that will save you money over time.

At Payless Plumbing, Heating and Drain Cleaning, we carry Rinnai Tankless Heaters. Our technicians are specially trained in installing and maintaining these high quality heaters.

Tankless water heaters differ from traditional tank-style units in several ways. First, they heat the water that you need…when you need it. This provides you with a endless hot water supply that your lifestyle demands.
Rinnai tankless heaters are about the size of a suitcase. This saves space and allows installation in a variety of places.

If a tankless heater is not what you're looking for, we also carry many energy efficient gas and electric traditional tank- style heaters. At Payless, we proudly carry Bradford White tank- style heaters.

Our master plumbers can discuss the pros and cons of both styles to determine which style best meets your needs.

Energy Savings Tip # 3

A typical shower can use up to 25 gallons of water...per person. Low flow shower heads can save your water consumption 30%-50%! Traditionally, low flow shower heads were designed to simply reduce the amount of water coming out. This made for an uncomfortable, low pressure shower. Thankfully, many of the new low flow shower heads still provide savings without sacrificing pressure.
